Frequently Asked Questions
- How can I upgrade my blog from the Free 30 day Trial to a paid plan?
- Upgrade your blog at any time during the trial period through our Upgrade Manager. You can choose Monthly or Yearly Billing during the upgrade process.
- What kind of discount can I receive for choosing the Yearly Billing option?
- Yearly Billing allows you to receive 12 months of service for the price of 10, which is a 17% discount over the monthly price. Pricing for all BlogHarbor plans is listed here.
- Will I be able to receive a refund if I decide to cancel my BlogHarbor blog Yearly Billing ?
- Other hosted weblogging systems will not provide you with a refund if you need to cancel your account. At BlogHarbor we feel that you should be rewarded with a discount for your commitment to an annual plan, but not penalized if you are unable to meet that commitment.
- BlogHarbor will provide a prorated refund based on the standard monthly price if you decide to cancel a weblog using Yearly Billing.
- As an example, you activated Yearly Billing under the Standard plan, which is priced at $89.50/year, or $8.95/month. At account activation, you were billed the yearly price of $89.50. In your third month of service, you decide to cancel. We will refund your original purchase price minus the price of three months of service at the regular monthly rate. In this case, the refund would be $89.50 - (3 * $8.95): $62.65.
- Once your blog is upgraded to the annual plan, it is considered to be in its first month of service and the maximum refund possible would be for the amount of your original activation fee minus the price of one month at the regular monthly rate. Once your blog is in its 10th month of service from its original activation date, refunds are not available.
- Refunds in the first 90 days can be made as credits against your original credit card purchase. After the first 90 days of service, refunds are made by your choice of a check drawn on a US bank or via the Paypal payment service.
- Can I upgrade to a more powerful plan later on if I choose the Yearly Billing option?
- Yes, you may upgrade to a a more powerful plan at anytime by accessing the Upgrade Manager.
- When you upgrade to a higher plan during the course of your exising Yearly Billing service, your Yearly Billing will be extended for an additional year and you will receive a credit for any remaining service under your current plan.
- Here's an example: you activated a blog under the Standard Plan at $89.50/year 9 months ago. There are 3 months left on your current Yearly Billing plan, and your audience is expanding and you want to move up to the Plus plan.
- With 3 months remaining on your plan, the Upgrade Manager would credit you for the three remaining months by discounting the price for the Plus plan by (3/12 * $89.50) – $22.38. A discount for that amount would be applied to the standard yearly price for the plan to which you wish to upgrade, and the upgrade would reset your account to be active under the new plan for an additional year.
- I'm already under the Monthly Billing plan, but would like to convert to the Yearly Billing option. How can I do that?
- Simply send us a support request, and we'll be glad to convert your account to Yearly Billing.
- We can roll your current month's payment into your yearly billing, extending your yearly account one year from the first of the current month and discounting your annual fee by the amount of your current month's payment; or we can begin Yearly Billing from the first of the following month. The choice is yours.
- How do I cancel my trial weblog?
- Trial weblogs will be automatically deleted after the trial period expires and the blog is not upgraded.
- How do I cancel my upgraded weblog?
